In an unexpectedly funny story set in the mid-1960s, a group of Welsh mothers with a common tragic history meet weekly in a bare function room that leaks.
The women realise they’ve let themselves go a bit over recent months, though everyone else would quietly understand why.
When a beautiful stranger comes to their town of Aberfan in Wales, her arrival brings an uplifting of spirits that’s full of humour, heart, wonderful characters and the indomitable human will to move on.
